Research AssistantJo

For years, Jo has felt motivated by the strong desire to find solutions for social and environmental problems. This passion has led her to where she is today, as a B.A. student with majors in Geography and International Development Studies at Saint Mary’s University, Nova Scotia.

Jo has gained experience working with non-profits and community foundations both locally and internationally on issues related to civic engagement, public health, environmental quality, international humanitarian law, community based research, and the social sector.

In the future, she hopes to continue working toward social and environmental solutions by pursuing a career in community planning and development. Jo’s academic interests lie in subjects related to participatory democracy and development, and social power relations. Jo has a love for visual and performance arts as hobbies, and in her spare time, she enjoys painting, and training to improve her skills in aerial circus arts.
