Chris Van Dyke is a current Master of Planning student in the University of Guelph’s Rural Planning and Development program, studying under Dr. Ryan Gibson. He also works as a housing planner with Housing Northwest Territories in Yellowknife. His interests include planning in Northern and remote communities, land use and housing policy, plan quality, and transportation and connectivity in rural, remote and Northern spaces. Alongside Heather Graham and Dr. Ryan Gibson, he recently completed work on the Rural and Northern Airports Access initiative, looking at airport use in northern Ontario. In the Winter 2024 semester, he will complete his Major Research Paper looking at the impacts of government land policy on access to housing in the Northwest Territories.
