Dr. Gibson is seeking to hire a part-time Rural Policy Research Assistant to start in mid-February 2017. The position will work with the Canadian Rural Revitalization Foundation (www.crrf.ca) and the Rural Policy Learning Commons (www.rplc-capr.ca) to maintain an inventory of upcoming rural policy events, workshop, and webinars taking place in Canada and internationally. Key skills required for the position include: familiarity with uploading information on websites (such as WordPress), database management, and online data collection. In addition, the candidate will have excellent personal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, analytical and problem solving, ability to multi-task while handling multiple competing priorities, and a capacity to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently. Written and reading fluency in languages beyond English would be an asset, but not required.
The position would be approximately 5-7 hours per week. Flexibility is available in terms of when and where the hours are completed.
