Lucas Berek is a Master’s of Science in Rural Planning and Development Student at The University of Guelph. Lucas was raised in Historic Downtown Alliston, Ontario, allowing him to be close to his community and a champion for its development. Lucas is incredibly passionate about the growth of Southern Ontario and the implications of policy, economics and ethics during the development process. Lucas is looking to expand his research within downtown renewal and strengthen the networks of local economies. Additionally, Lucas is currently a co-chair of the Ontario Agricultural College’s Graduate Student Council.
Lucas is currently working on a research initiative with the Social Science and Humanities Research Council focusing on knowledge mobilization and economic development in Rural communities.
