Kate graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2019 with a BES in planning. During her undergrad she was employed in multiple transportation planning related co-op jobs. Upon graduation, she was employed at the Dillon Consulting Limited on the Integrated Mobility team as a transportation planner. She continues to work full time while she attends school for her masters. Her desire to pursue a Master of Planning at the University of Guelph was sparked from her work in rural transit planning projects. Through her engagement and technical work with rural municipalities she developed an appreciation for the transportation opportunities and challenges that the rural communities experience.
