Melissa grew up in Caledon, Ontario and now calls Guelph, Ontario her home. Melissa completed a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Guelph in Marine & Freshwater Biology, and then went on to complete a Post-Graduate certificate in Environmental Engineering Applications. Melissa is now completing a Master’s degree in Rural Planning & Development at the University of Guelph.
Previously, Melissa worked with a Land Surveying company on land development projects within the Waterloo Region and surrounding areas. Through her work she gained an interest in the planning process and economic development in rural communities. Melissa is specifically interested in how land development can impact rural communities, as well as urban-rural migration. Melissa aims to concentrate her degree around Community & Social Development, and Resource & Environment Planning.
