Rural communities, businesses, and organizations face increasing challenges that require evidence-informed solutions. As a leader in rural research, the University of Guelph is well-positioned to support these communities through knowledge translation and transfer. Building upon past successes, this initiative will create advanced connection points between rural knowledge producers and end-users across rural Ontario.
To better address emerging complex and multi-dimensional issues, this initiative will encourage researchers to leverage video and visual formats to make knowledge more accessible to diverse rural audiences. This knowledge translation and transfer mobilization initiative will generate new plain language summaries, research videos, and infographics of leading rural research from the University of Guelph. This research will focus on rural people, rural environments, and rural places. A more collaborative effort between researchers, rural stakeholders, and communities will strengthen these dynamic connections and foster economically, socially, and environmentally resilient futures for rural Ontarians.
