
Contributions are currently being accepted for a special issue of the Journal of Rural and Community Development focused on reimagining philanthropy in rural and northern Canada! This special issue will explore diverse dimensions of rural and northern philanthropy in Canada, with a focus on the role philanthropy plays in governance, social and environmental justice, decolonization, and innovation in community development within these contexts. It aims to deepen understanding of how these roles and dimensions interact within rural and northern philanthropic landscapes, featuring insights from rural community leaders, practitioners, policymakers, and academic researchers. It will look at the intersection of public policy, community-driven initiatives, and governance innovations reshaping rural and northern development.
